Our Story

Serving Businesses Since 1967

Jilco has been serving businesses since 1967 — and family-owned and operated since the 1980s — working directly with companies across New Jersey, southeastern New York State and New York City, Philadelphia, Eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland to keep their trailers on the road.

What started as a single trailer company has grown into a full-service operation spanning two New Jersey facilities — leasing, sales, service, repairs, and parts — without losing the hands-on approach that built it. The people running the shop floor today bring the same practical, trailer-first mindset the company started with.

That kind of consistency doesn't happen by accident. It comes from someone answering the phone, quoting straight, and standing behind the equipment — the same way Jilco has for more than fifty years.

Why Customers Stay

Customers Know Who They’re Calling.

Customers work directly with familiar Jilco team members who understand their equipment, answer questions clearly, and remain available after the trailer leaves the yard.

Family-Owned, Direct Service

Family-owned since the 1980s. Your account is handled by the same people you spoke with last time — never a call center.

Equipment Experience

Jilco's in-house technicians are trained specifically on the trailers we lease, sell, and service — not general fleet mechanics.

Straightforward Lease Costs

Flat-rate pricing. No mileage charges. No unit-hour fees. No fine print.

Relationships That Last

Many customers come back for their next trailer, and the one after that.

The People Behind Jilco

These are the people you'll actually talk to — not a call center or a different voice every time you call. Many Jilco customers work with the same person for years because a trailer deal is the start of a relationship, not the end of one.

About Jilco, Answered

Contact Jilco
How long has Jilco been in business?

Jilco has been providing refrigerated trailer solutions since 1967 — nearly 60 years in business. The company has been family-owned since the 1980s, and that history spans leasing, sales, service, and parts, built around the same two New Jersey locations and the long-term customer relationships Jilco still relies on today.

Is Jilco family-owned?

Yes. Jilco is family-owned and operated, which shapes how the company approaches customer relationships and long-term accountability compared to large national fleet companies. Jilco was founded in 1967 and has been family-owned since the 1980s, when the current family purchased the business — and that ownership continues to guide how the company is run today.

What industries does Jilco serve?

Jilco works with food distribution, grocery, produce, beverage distribution, pharmaceutical, and floral businesses, along with cold chain logistics providers and transportation companies across the Northeast. If your industry isn't listed here, contact Jilco directly — most cold chain and temperature-sensitive operations can be accommodated with the right trailer and unit type.

Who will I talk to if I contact Jilco?

Your inquiry is reviewed personally by a member of the Jilco team, not routed through a call center or automated queue. During business hours, service questions reach the Service Manager directly, and sales questions reach an account representative who can walk you through your options. Contact Jilco to get started.
